2001 Electronic Components has taken on Portwell’s range of Intel Atom single board computers.
Fanless PCs based on the Intel Atom are becoming a popular platform for embedded systems running Windows or Linux operating systems.
“We are finding more and more customers who see the merits of using a pre-tested module or SBC within their product,” comments Paul Mears, product manager for embedded products at 2001.
“Portwell’s product range clearly strengthens 2001’s product offering in this area,” adds Mears.
The Stevenage-based distributor will carry Portwell’s industrial embedded single-board computers and modules in the UK and Ireland.
As well as Intel Atom-based industrial embedded boards, Portwell supply Intel Core i7-based platforms.
Areas of interest for the Atom-based SBCs are industrial brick computers and panel PCs.
