European semiconductor sales grew 2.8 % in June on May, measured in Euros and declined 1.2% when measured in US $s, according to World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS).
Despite this slight decline, the market surge is still high, as sales have increased around 40% in June 2010 compared to June 2009.
In Europe sales for discrete, optoelectronics, sensors & actuators have been stable if measured in US $s, with low-digit growth in June over May.
Sales of memories were positive, with flash memories showing a 4.1% increase in June on May.
European semiconductor sales in June 2010 amounted to $3.1bn or €2.4bn.
Measures in Euros, June sales were up 2.8% on May and up 50.0% on June 2009.
On a YTD basis, measured in Euro, semiconductor sales increased by 41.7% in H1 2010 versus H109.
On a worldwide basis, semiconductor sales in June 2010 were US$24.9bn, up 0.5% versus May.
This is an increase of 42.6% versus June 2009 and an increase of 50.4% on H109.
