Lime Microsystems a reference design for its multi-band multi-standard RF transceiver IC for femtocells.

The reference design features the LMS6002D multi-band RF receiver which can operate WCDMA band 1/2 and band 5.

To support the design of new femtocell products, the company is offering a quick start design kit for the LMS6002D.

It means that designers can evaluate the RF transceiver by measuring output IF/RF parameters.

Software included in the kit allows the transceiver to be configured to operate at different standards, frequencies or bandwidths.

The device can operate WiMAX, WCDMA, CDMA2000 and LTE at any frequency between 375MHz and 4GHz (continuous) in 16 user-selectable bandwidths up to 28MHz. The evaluation board is simply connected to a PC running the software included in the kit via a USB cable.

The evaluation board is compatible with, and can be configured by a range of baseband kits currently available from the major baseband suppliers.
