Enfis 208,800 LED lighting scheme switches on in Abu Dhabi

This 208,800 LED lighting scheme in Abu Dhabi come courtesy of Enfis in Swansea and Cooper Lighting of Leamington Spa.

With 500 rooms, the Yas Hotel is toped with a 217m curved steel frame containing 5,300 pivoting illuminated diamond-shaped glass panels.

Local temperatures can reach 60°C in the summer.

"Right from the beginning we knew that ambient would be a major challenge considering the inherent performance limitations for LEDs components and driver technology," said Cooper Lighting MD Gavin Smith. "We carried out numerous studies testing products from some of the world's major LED manufacturers. The Enfis array-driver solutions were the only systems that passed our environmental chamber trials."

The lights are said to offer a 4.2 billion colour palette, with two-way communication providing real-time monitoring of fixture temperature, colour and energy consumption, as well as DMX remote control.

Cooper used over 5,850 Enfis LED arrays, primarily 4-channel UNO Plus arrays and control drivers integrated into custom designed IP65-rated stainless steel stanchions.
