Twiddle steers power LED lens

Twiddle is a steerable power LED lens from Finish optical firm Ledil.

21.6mm in diameter and 14.4 high, the top of the two-part lens system can be steered up to 15° from the centre in any direction.

So far there are two versions, one for Nichia's 1W surface mount NS6x083 series of LEDs, and one for Cree's more powerful XR-E series.

Beam widths are ±12 and ±10° respectively, with wider versions in development.

"Special care taken to make uniform white or warm white illumination," said the firm.

The lens and its holder attaches to an underlying heatsink with automotive-grade foam adhesive tape.
