Emerson Network Power has introduced an industrial MicroATX motherboard designed for point-of-sale (POS) and kiosk applications.

Part of a plan to broaden applications for the firm's MicroATX boards, the MATXM-C2-410-B uses the Mobile Intel GM45 Express chipset to support either the Intel Core2 Duo Processor T9400 or the Intel Celeron Processor 575.

A feature of the board is its support for dual displays.

Another unusual feature is the capability to mate with a mid-plane rather than the backplane, which allows more straight-forward replacement and avoids any risk of incorrect cable attachment making it ideal for the retail environment.

The board also features PoweredUSB ports, which are used in POS systems to power peripherals such as printers and bar-code scanners. As a result 12V and 24V PoweredUSB ports are available for connection to point-of-sale peripherals.

Dual display support includes an LVDS or VGA primary display and HDMI secondary display. There is also PCI Express Mini Card connector for WiFi/WiMAX connectivity.
