The Rambus lawsuit with the ITC alleging patent infringement by six companies has now been extended into an investigation into 34 companies.
Originally, Rambus sued Broadcom, Freescale, Nvidia, Mediatek, LSI and ST. Now the ITC has said that it will be investigating 34 companies in connection with the lawsuit.
The additional companies being investigated are: Asustek, Asus, Audio Partnership, Biostar Microtech, Cisco, Elitegroup Computer Systems, EVGA Corp, Galaxy Micro Systems, Garmin’ GBT Inc, Giga-byte Technology, Gracom Technologies, HP, Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, Jaton Technology, Micro-star International, Motorola,
OPPO Digital, Palit Microsystems, Pine Technology Holdings, Seagate, Sparkle Computer and Zotac.
In some cases more than one location of the same holding company is being investigated.
The patent infringement relate to technologies used in PCI Express, Serial ATA, Serial Attached SCSI and DisplayPort, DDR, DDR2, DDR3, mobile DDR, LPDDR, LPDDR2, and GDDR3 memory controllers.
