Semi sales drop 2.4% from October to November, says SIA

Worldwide semiconductor sales dropped 2.4% in November compared to October, according to the SIA.

Year-on-year, November sales were 3.1% down on November 2010.

For the year, sales were down 0.8% on 2010.

The SIA blamed the Thailand flooding  and the Eurozoe debt crisis for the November drop.

Supply chain disruptions resulting from the floods in Thailand have impacted semiconductor sales in the near term," says SIA CEO Brian Toohey, "however OEMs are expected to recover production losses over the next few months."
