Glasgow opto start-up fails to find buyerHarry YeatesEfforts to find a buyer to take on Glasgow optoelectronic component start-up Essient Photonics as a going concern have failed, according to the firm's liquidator.
The company now looks likely to be broken up.
"We have worked very hard to sell the business as a going concern. However with market sentiment for technology firms as it is, this has been challenging," explained Fraser Gray, a partner at Glasgow accountant Kroll Buckler Philips.
"We have had several enquiries, however none have progressed to an offer for the business. We will now look at the asset sale options to maximise returns to creditors."
