Survey shows IT jobs decline slowingRichard BallA survey of jobs in the information technology sector hints at an easing of the slowdown in the jobs market.
According to CWJobs and Salary Survey Publications, the electronics industry has suffered less badly over the past 12 months in terms of IT jobs than other areas. Its 41 per cent drop in vacancies beats finance, media, retail and communications which all exceed 60 per cent.
"Overall, the IT jobs market is showing signs of bottoming out with the rate of decline in jobs advertised having slowed significantly over the last six months," said Nigel Sterndale, publisher at CWJobs.
Despite this drop in the market, the number of available jobs is roughly the same as it was two years ago.
In terms of salaries, IT jobs in electronics remain essentially flat with just a one per cent drop in the last year.
The top five main areas of expertise required stay the same as last year, but DSP appears for the first time in the top ten. Top Salaries Top Skills Job Title Salary (?)
