Plexus buys manufacturing business from Kontron

Plexus and Kontron have signed a manufacturing agreement that will see all manufacturing of Kontron Design Manufacturing Services subsidiary (KDMS) located in Penang, Malaysia to Plexus.

As part of the  $30-35m deal Plexus will acquire the inventory and equipment of KDMS, hire substantially all KDMS employees. 

“This strategic agreement expands and strengthens our existing relationship with Kontron,” said Steve Frisch, regional president Plexus – EMEA.

As part of the deal Kontron will commit to approximately $100m of incremental revenue annually for two years. 

“The agreement enables Kontron to focus on our core competencies in providing superior engineering services,” adds Ulrich Gehrmann, Kontron CEO.

"We are excited about this agreement as it supports further partnering with Kontron in the EMEA region and demonstrates the value of strategic relationships,” said Frisch.
