Process technology R&D has got another €25m shot in the arm from the European Union via the
Medea+ and Foremost organisation and coming under the EU’s Sixth Framework Programme.
The €24.1m NanoCMOS project, launched in 2004, has been extended until December 2008 under a new name, Pullnano, with fresh funding.
Pullnano, which kicked off last week, has the same basic area of research as NanoCMOS which is the development of 45nm and 32nm semiconductor processes.
Contributing to Pullnano are 35 partners including 12 universities., the LETI and CNRS research laboratories, IMEC, the Fraunhofer Institute, STMicroelectronics, Infineon Technologies, Freescale and Philips.
