Anglia Components has taken on the semiconductor line of IDT in the UK and Ireland.
The signing continues the Cambridgeshire-based distributor’s strategy for strengthening its semiconductor franchises. The addition of IDT follows the signing of the product lines of Lattice Semiconductor, Quantum Research and Power Integrations in the last few months.
“This signing is in line with our ‘balanced’ distribution strategy, which aims to offer our customers a broad portfolio of complementary products,” said Anglia’s marketing manager, Lee Nye.
Of specific interest to Nye is IDT’s range of network and timing chips for communications, consumer and computing applications.

“The agreement will complement and strengthen our existing offering in frequency and timing products by allowing us to address new market areas,” said Nye.
The IDT product range will also include products resulting from the acquisitions of Integrated Circuit Systems (ICS) and the timing IC business from Freescale Semiconductor.
Pietro Polidori, director of IDT in Europe, believed Anglia’s approach to its semiconductor lines based on strong field application engineering (FAE) support would benefit his lines.
In a separate move, Anglia has also recently added Kaschke, a German manufacturer of soft ferrite cores and inductive components to its passives lines.
