Analysts Research and Markets has published a list of Chinese IC design houses.
"In 2008 the output of the Chinese IC design industry reached 23.52 million RMB (approx. $3.44bn), growing 4.2% compared to 2007," said the report.
This was well below the growth in the Chinese design business which reached 21.2% in 2007.
The leading IC design house was Hisilicon which grew significantly in 2008.
The top ten were:
