Jobs in Kent as marine electronics firms pool resources John Mainwaring
Navico, the marine electronics manufacturer, and Japanese firm, Koden, have announced a joint venture to produce Koden's LCD radar (MDL7) at Navico's factory in Margate. This move is set to create over 50 new jobs during the next twelve months.
James Flynn, managing director of Navico, explained that the joint venture is not a merger nor a takeover, but a pooling
of resources designed to benefit both companies. He said "With so many of our competitors being swallowed up by conglomerates we've been the focus of recent speculation. This announcement should quash all those theories."
