The star performers in the semiconductor industry this year will be Qualcomm with revenues up 33%; Infineon with 30% growth in its non-wireless business; Intel with 26% growth including Infineon's wireless business; Sony with 16% growth; Fujitsu and Nvidia, both up 11% and TSMC which is forecast to grow 10%, according to IC Insights.
This is against the background of a market that is expected to grow only 2%, says IC Insights.
The duffers are led by Elpida with a 39% sales decline, followed by Hynix - minus 10%, NXP - minus 7% and ST - minus 6%.
The top 20 semiconductor suppliers will collectively grow 6%, says IC Insights. Biggest gainer in the rankings is Nvidia which moves up from 23rd to 18th. And the biggest faller is Elpida which moves down from 13th to 19th.
None of the top seven growth companies this year are memory companies.
