Avnet Embedded extends Kontron line to the UK

Avnet Embedded is now selling the Kontron line of embedded computer modules in the UK.

The distributor acquired the line in France and the Nordic region when just over a year ago it bought UK-based distributor Abacus and its Axess Technology and Trident businesses last year.

It has wasted no time in offering Kontron single board computers and computer-on-module (COM) products in the UK.

Like Avnet Embedded, Kontron is an Intel embedded partner.

A similar agreement covering Italy was recently announced.

“This new agreement extends our relationship with Avnet Embedded to most of the major markets in Europe,” said Jürgen Grabow, v-p of EMEA sales at Kontron.

“Their UK team has demonstrated that they can replicate this performance,” said Grabow.

“We are very excited about this opportunity and hope to continue the success in the UK we have achieved with the Kontron products in France and the Nordics,” said Martin Brooks, v-p at Avnet Embedded.
