An independent panel of judges has made its choices for The Elektra Awards, which this year moves back to London for its now traditional Awards Ceremony and Christmas Party.

Now in its seventh year and firmly established as an annual high point of the electronics industry, the Elektra Awards give the industry the opportunity to recognise the achievements of individuals and companies across Europe. They are designed to promote best practice in key areas, including innovation, sales growth and employee motivation.

New categories for 2009

The award categories have been enhanced to reflect the strength of innovation in semiconductor design and the growing importance of applications such as LED lighting and renewable energy technologies.

This year, there are separate semiconductor categories for digital ICs and analogue ICs. There are also awards for the best LED lighting application and renewable energy design.
