Distributor Farnell InOne has announced the latest dates in its 'School of RoHS' series, which aims to provide expert information on the lead-free legislation.

In addition, Farnell's RoHS evangelist Gary Nevison will speak at NEEDS, the National Electrical and Electronic Directives show, on Tuesday May 16. Nevison will run an interactive session on the impact of the legislation.

School of RoHS dates include the Winfrith Technology Centre in Dorchester on the 24th May and will include talks on lead free soldering and a tooling exhibition.

"These events are just the latest in a long line of presentations Farnell InOne has undertaken this year, including Electronics Yorkshire's Business Means Compliance conference and an AFDEC, RoHS Update conference, where we spoke about due diligence in detail," said Nevison.

He said that by going out on the road, the firm was able to deal with specific questions and concerns from engineers.

Farnell also said that Steven Webb, company secretary and general counsel (ie the firm's lawyer), will also be speaking in the coming weeks on the legal aspects of RoHS. His next event is at ERA Technology on Wednesday July 5.
