National claims record low power op amp

The latest low power operational amplifier from National Semiconductor represents it lowest offering at 552nW.

With operation down to 1.6V, the PowerWise LPV521 features a supply voltage range from 1.6V to 5.5V with a maximum supply current of 0.4µA.

Its common-mode voltage range accepts input signals 100mV beyond each rail, a feature designed for temperature and pressure sensor applications.

The maximum 1mV input offset voltage and 3.5µV per degree C of input offset voltage drift should ensure stable measurement for both high-side and low-side current sensing.

Uniquely, the op amp equipped with electromagnetic interference (EMI) suppression filters to reduce unwanted radio frequency interference from external sources.

The power-to-performance ratio is 65µA per MHz.
