Dealing with dual-port memory power consumption

Saturday 29 April 2006 00:03

Most applications impost a power budget, and increasingly the power consumption of systems is becoming a more challenging requirement.

In some of the most demanding applications – from cellular handsets to portable test equipment – two processors need to communicate: typically a DSP and a microcontroller.

Dual-port memories are a great way to enable this communication, and with careful design the power consumption can be minimised.

Click here to find out more about dual-port device power consumption issues, or learn more about how to design with dual-port memories in one of the most power sensitive applications, handsets, by clicking here.
