Xilinx offers first IBIS-AMI models for FPGAs

Xilinx is now offering IBIS-AMI models for FPGA transceivers.

The models should make it possible to "reduce simulation time from hours to minutes", said Xilinx

Xilinx and Signal Integrity Software are to hold a free webinar on Thursday, Nov. 12 to present the IBIS-AMI models for transceiver simulation.

The models can be used for signal integrity and timing analysis in multi-gigabit rate transcievers as an alternative to HSPICE.

The IBIS-AMI (I/O Buffer Information Specification - Algorithmic Modeling Interface) modeling specification is intended to standardise simulation of SerDes PHYs at the high levels of simulation performance and accuracy needed to correctly predict the behaviour of serial links.

Xilinx IBIS-AMI models can be downloaded.
