CamSemi has been named as 'University Spin-out of the Year' in this year's New Energy Awards.
The firm has developed a high-efficiency, low-stand-by, power supply topology for wall adaptors, and supplies a chip to support it that works with cheap bipolar power transistors.
The award was presented at The Natural History Museum.

In addition, each of this year's ten winners has been given a specific plot of land under the Healthy Planet Guardian scheme.
For CamSemi, it is a one hectare plot in the Great Fen wildlife project, not far from the company's Cambridge office.
The firm also recently received the Start-up of the Year award from The National Microelectronics Institute.
