Cirrus Logic has extended its European distribution agreement with Avnet Memec to cover markets in the UK, Ireland, France and Italy.
“The extension of the distribution agreement to UK, Ireland, Italy and France is the result of two years hard work of our team. We have proven to Cirrus our market and technology knowledge on analogue and digital signal processing components in the rest of Europe,” said Steve Haynes, president of Avnet Memec.
Key markets for the company’s analogue and mixed-signal products will be the audio/video and industrial segments.
Mike Noble, v-p European sales, Cirrus Logic, said that the distributor has a “European team that understands Cirrus Logic’s analogue and mixed-signal products, and we look forward to working together to drive new opportunities.”
Avnet Memec has also recently extended its distribution agreement with embedded wireless specialist Wavecom to include Germany, France, Austria and Switzerland.
Avnet Memec received the Wavecom distributorship through the acquisition of ESCO Italiana in October 2006. Avnet Memec already carries the Wavecom lines in Italy, Greece and Turkey.
