Huawei says it is planning to create 500 jobs in the UK over three years.
This would double its headcount in the UK.
The telecoms network system supplier said it also plans to generate a further 1,000-1,500 subcontracting roles over three years.
It currently has around one hundred vacancies open ranging from permanent to fixed term contract roles across its UK business.
In a bid to attract a new generation of talent, Huawei is in the process of developing a formal UK graduate programme.
“We are committed to bringing more job opportunities to the UK which is a key market for us,” said Victor Zhang, chief executive of Huawei UK.
“An increase in employees in our UK office will help us to provide more customised and innovative products and solutions for British telecom carriers, enterprise customers and consumers,” said Zhang.
The company is also setting up new European business centres in the UK over the next twelve months.
Many of the jobs will be created at Huawei’s UK headquarters in Basingstoke.
"Basingstoke is home to companies from many countries but we are particularly pleased to play host to the UK's largest Chinese investor,” said Cllr Andrew Finney, Leader of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.
In December 2010, Huawei opened a Cyber Security Evaluation Centre in Banbury.
