BI Technologies has developed custom panel potentiometers for Bolt guitar amplifiers.

Using designs based on the P260 and P09x panel potentiometers, the firm is supplying more than 30 potentiometers per amplifier.

"With conductive plastic elements, concentric shafts and life cycles as high as one million rotations, the high quality potentiometers are ideally suited for amplifier and other pro audio applications," claimed Alain Leon, product marketing manager at BI - which also supplies pots for foot pedals, guitars and pre-amps.

Package size and configurations were customised for the Bolt amplifier.

Standard P260 devices are IP66-sealed and offered in side- or top-adjust versions with PCB leads and a rotary switch option.

Resistances range from 2k to 1M ±10%, and switch contact resistance is 150mΩ.

Maximum rotational torque is 1.5oz-in plus 0.5oz-in each additional gang, and minimum switch detent is 2.0oz-in.

Rotational life is to 1,000,000 cycles and the pots are designed to operate from -55to 125C.

Standard P09x pots come in side- or top-adjust switch versions with PCB pins and up to 8 gangs.

Resistance ranges from 1 to 500k ±20% and a switch contact resistance of less than 100mΩ.

Rotational torque ranges from 0.5 to 1.25oz-in, life is to 100,000 cycles, and operating temperature is -10 to 70C.
