Frontier Silicon sees Venice 7 in DAB radios for Christmas

Frontier Silicon has started shipping its Venice 7 digital radio module to DAB/ DAB+/DMB-Radio manufacturers. 

Products from a range of manufacturers including, PURE, Roberts and Grundig will be on sale for Christmas.

The Venice 7 module is compliant with WorldDMB’s Profile 1 specification and low power directives for Europe including the UK’s ‘Energy Saving Recommended’ scheme.

It incorporates a baseband processor which can demodulate, audio decode and drive the user interface supporting DAB, DAB+, DMB-Radio and FM in battery and mains operated products.

The DAB radio chipset supplier has also opened a sales office in Japan. It already has a presence in Japan.

“With many high quality global audio brands and a large number of automotive module and radio head-end manufacturers headquartered in Japan, our office here will ensure we are able to provide them with world class service,” said  Anthony Sethill, CEO Frontier Silicon,

Australia and Switzerland are the newest digital radio markets and the French are soon to roll out of DMB-Radio services.

The office in Tokyo will operate alongside and in support of Sanshin Electronics who are the distributors of Frontier products in Japan.
