Component manufacturer Pressac has announced it is creating more than 400 new jobs in East Dunbartonshire, Scotland at its wholly owned subsidiary, John McGavigan.
A £20m expansion of the McGavigan manufacturing operation will see the firm's telecoms manufacturing lines moved into a new 115,000 sq ft factory which is to be built at Bishopbriggs, close to McGavigan's existing operation.
The move will be completed over a three year period and will create some 400 new jobs.
Geoff White, Pressac's chief executive, said: "We are delighted to be able to create over 400 new jobs in manufacturing within Scotland and to have received such enthusiastic support from all the authorities. This new facility will significantly enhance our manufacturing capabilities and capacity."
Henry McLeish, Scottish Executive Minister for Enterprise and Lifelong Learning said: "McGavigans provides an excellent example of how investment commitment in research and development has enabled the company to expand its expertise from the automotive industry into the telecommunications industry."
Derby-based Pressac sells products manufactured in Scotland into automotive, telecoms and industrial systems industries.
