CSR has started work on moving its silicon IP onto semiconductor foundry TSMC’s 90nm embedded flash process technology.
The companies are working together ofn the development of IP and RF CMOS processes for the Cambridge-based wireless chipset company’s future products.
CSR has already validated a range of proprietary IP blocks based on the new process technology and IP.
These have already been incorporated into the recently launched CSR8600 consumer wireless audio chipset.
“Our 90nm embedded flash process technology and IP support high-performance, low-power and high-density memory that, along with our RF CMOS process, enables CSR to deliver next-generation SoC products,” said Jason Chen, senior v-p of worldwide sales and marketing at TSMC.
“Our close collaboration with TSMC on this 90nm embedded flash process technology enables CSR to maintain its leadership in developing flexible, highly integrated SoC platforms for consumer audio applications,” said Chris Ladas, executive v-p of operations for CSR.
