London display materials developer OLED-T launches a low-temperature organic electron injector material for organic LED displays.
Intel sells more optical business to Emcore
Intel is further divesting its optical communications business, announcing that Emcore will acquire the enterprise and storage assets of Intel's optical platform division, as well as the Intel connects cables business.

Cell processor goes on sale at Toshiba
At last the Cell microprocessor, developed by IBM, Toshiba and Sony, is being made available to everyone. Toshiba has started sampling a Cell processor under the brand name of SpursEngine 1000 or SE1000.

Icera Sirific RF baseband tie-up takes on Qualcomm

Motorola layoffs reach 10,000 mark
Motorola, in a filing with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) last week, stated plans to cut 2,600 jobs, bringing the total number of employees laid off at the company to about 10,000 since the beginning of 2007.
