Tektronix has added to its range of mixed-signal oscilloscopes with a high end instrument that has a 20GHz analogue bandwidth and 80 ps digital channel timing resolution.

As part of the MSO70000 series, the scope has up to 20 channels of measurement capture (4 analogue and 16 digital).

It provides record lengths up to 250 million points and sample rates of 50GS/s analogue and 12.5GS/s digital.

According to Trevor Smith, market development manager for scopes at Tektronix, the internal routing of selected digital signals to the analogue channels for viewing, a feature called iCapture, will help with the debugging of serial data streams.

Other features include I2C and SPI bus analysis, DPOJET for jitter and eye diagram analysis, DDRA for DDR Memory Bus Verification, SDLA for EQ/channel emulation and analysis and SignalVu for frequency domain display and analysis.

Prices for the MSO70000 start at £47,900.

A set of solder-in probe accessories are designed for connecting to vias and fine pitch components. The toolset for DDR memory probing also includes BGA interposers for all variants of DDR3 and DDR2 memory components.
