The Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) has announced the shortlisted entries for its 2010 Innovation Awards.

Innovation: A Micro-inverter that Cuts Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Energy Harvesting Costs by up to 25%
Description: A patented inverter topology that eliminates the least reliable components in solar PV power conversion

Innovation: Real-time RF Imaging System for Breast Cancer Detection
Description: The world-first compact, real-time radio frequency or microwave imaging system for breast cancer detection
The Awards as a whole cover 15 categories including Asset Management, Emerging Technologies and Product Design.
The winners will be announced at an Awards Ceremony at The Brewery, London, on 24 November.
