Green Hills Software has introduced a development and run-time management package for embedded products based on Freescale’s QorIQ P2020 and P2010 communications processors.

The software company has combined its Integrity real-time operating system (RTOS) and secure virtualisation suite with optimising C/C++ compilers for Power Architecture technology.

The package also includes the Multi integrated development environment (IDE) which provides a development environment for building, debugging and testing multicore embedded applications.

The compilers can be used to generate code from C, C++, Ada 95 for the e500 Power Architecture cores.

“The P2020 and P2010 achieve high performance with networking versatility in a low power envelope, enabling designers to dramatically increase the level of functionality in their embedded products,” said Robert Redfield, director of partner business development, Green Hills Software.

The QorIQ P2020 communications processor is a dual-core device operating at 1.2GHz. It is based on e500 Power Architecture cores and peripherals and is fully software compatible with existing PowerQUICC processors.
