Sarantel has seen a 60% increase in sales in the first half of the current financial year, compared with 12 months ago.
The developer of mobile phone antennas expects revenues for the first half of the 2009 financial year to be approximately £1.6m.
This is almost double the revenues achieved in the second half of last year.
Sarantel's cash balance remains at £2.2m and monthly cash outflows are “in line with market expectations”, said the company.
“Although the consumer GPS market remains depressed, the Company has been able to maintain the level of sales in that market as a result of its wide base of customers and design wins over the years,” said Sarantel.
The Northamptonshire-based company was also encouraged by sales of its higher value products which now contribute slightly more than 50% of revenues, compared with around 16 per cent in the first half of the 2008 financial year.
These include antennas shipped to Iridium for use in its satellite phones.
Sarantel expects to publish its results for the six month period ended 31 March 2009 in late May to early June.
