Lumileds' Rebel power LED. The firm is putting CAD files on line.
For lighting engineers, Lumileds has put power LED optical, mechanical and electrical model files on-line.
"Providing resources that support the development of solid-state lighting solutions is an on-going effort that we are fully committed to," said Lumileds applications manager Rudi Hechfellner.
Files available now for the firm's Luxeon Rebel and K2 LEDs include 100k, 500k and 5M raysets, optical source models, footprint files, 3D-CAD files, PCB layout tool library models to generate printed circuit board layouts, and Spice models for electrical simulations, said Lumileds. Available formats include: ASCII, Zemax, ASAP, TracePro, LucidShape, Light Tools, IGS, STP, DWG, DXF, OrCad, Eagle, and Spice.
The CAD files add to an existing usable light tool, and QLED thermal design and simulation software developed by Future Lighting Solutions.
