Hynix Semiconductor, the Korean DRAM specialist, has adopted a
shape-based place and route flow from Bristol EDA firm Pulsic.
Hynix will use Pulsic’s Lyric AMS tool suite for global,
automatic and interactive routing, and to provide floorplanning,
auto-placement, and signal integrity capabilities.
“We have completed a detailed evaluation of Pulsic’s
shape-based tools over the last few months and concluded that we
can improve productivity in several key areas by applying this
technology as part of our overall design flow,” said Dr S K
Hong, CIO and vice president of Hynix.
The firm will also use Pulsic’s Spine Router, designed for
memory routing-channel interconnects.
“We have seen a reduction in design cycle times of between
30 per cent and 50 per cent using Lyric AMS, compared to the
traditional approach for these types of designs,” said Ken
Roberts, Pulsic’s CEO.
“We are immensely pleased that Hynix Semiconductors has
adopted Pulsic for its leading edge designs.”
