Intel collaborates with parallel processing start-up

Silicon Hive is working with Intel on developing parallel processing systems based on the Atom processor.

Intel Capital has previously led a $7m investment round in Netherlands-based Silicon Hive, which develops silicon IP for imaging, video processing and communications.

The significance of this is it brings the parallel processing technology to Atom-based SoCs.

“The strengthening of relationship between Intel and Silicon Hive offers a major growth opportunity for Silicon Hive and takes us further in our vision of mass-deployment of Silicon Hive’s technology for consumer benefit,” said Atul Sinha CEO of Silicon Hive.

Silicon Hive has developed its own programmable HiveFlex processor cores, which are supported by HiveCC program development tools, and partner-supplied application libraries.
