An Israeli company has launched an online car-based information and entertainment system that offers drivers and passengers touch screen and mobile access to nine "content worlds".
Iway Mobile's Comodo console (pictured) includes a Bluetooth hands-free kit, a back camera when the reverse gear is engaged, 3D navigation software, radar detector and a music player connected to the car's audio system.
A 4.3 inch touchscreen provides access to hundreds of web-based services and applications that cover news, television, road travel, leisure, music, widgets, office apps and other useful content.

The system blocks video content when the vehicle is in motion, and users cannot send or receive text messages or use a browser to surf the internet.
Cellcom, the Israeli mobile phone operator which helped to develop the console, will be the first to market it in Israel. Iway Mobile is negotiating with mobile phone operators around the world, car rental and leasing companies, and organisations with large motor pools.
The system is based on the Samsung 530MHz processor running Microsoft Windows CE5. It has 3GB of storage space. The console has a high-resolution, 4.3-in colour scratch-resistant touchscreen with wide display.
To use the console as a hands-free kit, the driver's mobile phone must be paired to it using Bluetooth. The 3.5G broadband modem fits in the car's glove compartment.
