A technology partnering event is bidding to replicate the global success of electronics companies such as ARM.
Next month's TechnologyWorld09 event at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry will have a major delegation from Chinese companies looking to tap into British technology know-how for future trade and business partnership opportunities.
As many as 20 Chinese companies have registered for the technology business matching event, which takes place on 23 and 24 November and is organised by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI).
“The UK is forging the way with companies like ARM, whose chips are in 90% of the world’s 4.1 trillion mobile phones. British technology is helping China’s 1.3 billion people get connected but there remains significant potential for collaboration in this increasingly important sector,“ said UKTI chief executive Sir Andrew Cahn.
The aim of the event is to give UK companies an opportunity to work with firms in China to take advantage of areas such as the growing mobile communications sector.
The delegation includes Chinese companies such as SMIC, Hong Kong CSL Ltd, Hong Kong Mtel Ltd, AsiaPay Ltd, Chengdu Hong Ming Electronics, VanceInfo, Beijing TechFaith Wireless Technology, Chengdu Chengdian YiXing Digital & e-Health software, Glodtel.
