Aeroflex has introduced in its S-Series family of benchtop RF instruments digital signal generators in 3GHz and 6GHz models. It is also launching two vector signal analysers in 6GHz and 13GHz models.
The PXI bus-based test platform was first introduced a year ago with the launch of the SGA analogue RF signal generators.
All instruments in the family are 4U in height and half-rack width, so that signal generator and analyser can be accommodated side-by-side in a 19 inch rack.
The SGD-3 and SGD-6 digital signal generator have +13dBm output power, with a +20dBm option. They incorporate an IQ modulator with 300MHz RF bandwidth, which can generate wide bandwidth modulated signals.
The SGD has low single sideband phase noise of -135dBc/Hz at 1GHz offset, and a fast frequency settling time of 100μs, enabling accurate receiver testing with a significant reduction in measurement time and cost.
The dynamic range of the generator’s IQ modulators provides for an adjacent channel leakage ratio of -71dBc on WCDMA signals.
The SVA vector signal analyser has a maximum instantaneous bandwidth up to 90MHz. Peak signal power levels up +30dBm can be input directly to the instrument.
Maximum sensitivity is -148dBm/Hz.
