Enpirion has knocked 20% off the area of its former tiniest point-of-load converter "setting the bar for the smallest 3A solution available", it claims.
Called the EN5339, it fits into 55mm2 minimum, including external passives, and has a 1.1mm profile allowing bottom-side PCB mounting.
Aimed at embedded computer-on-modules and solid-state drives, inside is a controller, mosfet, compensation network and inductor.
The firm is claiming 20 design wins alerady.
Its data sheet is not yet publically available, but released parameters are:
2.4-5.5V input voltage range
Potentiometer-programmable output
95%max efficiency
6mVmin ripple
21,800 years MTBF
no load de-rating up to 85°C ambient.
4x6x1.1mm QFN-24 package.
