Frontier Silicon has added DMB-Audio decode to its digital radio module, completing global coverage for DAB-like radio standards.
"DMB-Audio is particularly relevant for the French market," v-p of marketing Steve Evans told Electronics Weekly. "The receiver addresses the market need for a solution that supports all Eureka-147 based standards, including DAB and DAB+ and DMB-Audio."
Based around the firm's Venice 5.1 receiver unveiled earlier this year in Australia, the module works with both Band 3, L-Band and standard FM, and is a drop-in replacement for the firm's earlier Venice 5 range.
"The unified radio module will include all interfaces necessary for a fully-functional product, needing only power supply, display, keypad, audio amplifier and speakers to complete a radio," said Frontier. "It will start sampling in July or August, and be available for volume production by the end of 2008."
