Icera has extended it licence agreement with Motorola so that it has rights to distribute and further develop the Motorola TTPCom cellular 2G/3G/HSDPA protocol stack.
The Bristol-based wireless device developer will be able to distribute the stack software to customers as part of all of its products, including its Espresso cellular WWAN mini card platforms.
Icera has licensed the Motorola TTPCom 2G/3G/HSDPA protocol stack since late 2004 and the technology is being shipped by Icera on its Livanto silicon devices.
“The Motorola TTPCom stack is one of the most capable and mature products on the market today and is the most widely accepted independent protocol stack available,” said Stan Boland, president and CEO of Icera.
The commercial terms of the license agreement were not disclosed.
