Arrow Electronics and Intel have reached an agreement which allows the distributor to provide global assurance support for a wide range of embedded microcontroller products recently discontinued by the chip maker.

The move follows representations by customers affected by Intel’s decision.

The deal covers over 250 individual part numbers including the popular 80C51 family along with the 80C188, 80C186, 80960, 80386 and 80486. Automotive CAN (controller area network) devices are also covered in the agreement.

Robert Behn, vice president of marketing for embedded computing at Arrow pointed customers to local Arrow offices for more information.
