German connector manufacturer FCT has set up its first direct sales operation in the UK.

The office will provide local sales and technical support to the supplier’s distribution network of Quadrant, Aerco and Foremost Electronics.

The Hertfordshire-based office will also be part of a programme to establish closer links with major UK customers.

“My prime task is to explore the many opportunities that exist for FCT products in the UK and increase our market share,” said Tony Monaghan, FCT’s newly appointed UK sales manager.

Munich-based FCT is a specialist supplier of D-type connectors to the medical, military, telecommunications, aerospace, instrumentation, broadcast and industrial markets.

Annual turnover is €43m.

Its product range includes D-type connectors with power and coaxial contacts in standard, mixed layout and high density formats.

FCT also manufactures multi-wire, coaxial, and over-moulded cable assemblies in a plant in the Czech Republic.

Tony Monaghan worked for 14 years as account manager at Quadrant prior to joining FCT.
