Pogo rises from the ashes as mobile IP gets recycledAlex Mayhew-SmithIntellectual property from collapsed firm Pogo Technology has been acquired to form the basis of an IP licensing company called Pogo Mobile Solutions.
The company will keep 15 of Pogo's original staff and intends to license its technology to mobile device manufacturers next year.
Ran Mokady will head up the firm as CEO. He is already involved with a number of early stage UK high technology companies, including Commtag, ART (Advanced Recognition Technologies) and Cognima.
"Our technology will go in advanced communications PDAs that will have mobile phone prices," said Mokady.
Pogo Mobile Solutions will focus on licensing Pogo Distributed Architecture, a distributed technology platform which incorporates compression algorithms, device and network software, to third parties. These will include mobile operators and original equipment manufacturers.
