Semiconductor firm Cree has gone into volume manufacture of office LED lighting.

LR24 is a 600x600mm recessed LED with a remarkably high colour-rendering index (CRI) - 92.

"With the addition of the LR24, we can light an entire office using Cree LED fixtures," said Neal Hunter, president of LED lighting at Cree. "We've already installed more than 1,000 early-production LR24s in various projects."

Power consumption is 48 to 58W and light output 3,200 and 3,800 lm.

Colour temperature is 3,500K and the units are dimmable to 5% using 0-10Vdc control.

Cree bought North Carolina LED luminair maker LED Lighting Fixtures in August and renamed it Cree LED Lighting Solutions.
