French electronic design automation firm CoFluent Design has raised $2.6m in a first round of funding in order to expand sales and marketing worldwide and to increase its research and development work.
The firm, which creates tools for the electronic system level (ESL), is specialising in software that allows designers to explore different architectures and analyse performance.
CoFluent Studio is the company's flagship tool to carry out the modelling and simulation tasks using the SystemC language.
The software outputs executable specifications and allows distributed design teams to share their results using a library format.
The funding was led by Emertec Gestion, a French venture capitalist specialising in microelectronics, along with BNP Paribas Private Equity and UFG Private Equity.
“We were impressed by CoFluent’s ability to win world-class reference customers in their early years with a unique product offering that fills the gap in existing design flows while easily integrating into current processes and practices,” said Jean-Philippe Gendre, investment director of Emertec Gestion.
