Embedded design house Hitex Design UK has added to its skills in software-hardware integration through a tie-up with software driver specialist Pebble Bay.
Hitex Design already has experience of hardware, embedded software and full system integration from concept to volume production.
But it plans to expand this expertise into different areas of hardware-software integration.
“Both companies have many decades of experience and proven success in their field, we are also geographically close and what we do is complementary - so it's a very good fit for us,” said Michael Beach, managing director at Hitex Design UK.
Pebble Bay provides software development services to the motor sports, defence, telecoms and medical sectors.
Pebble Bay will be presenting a half-day technical workshop at this year's UK Embedded Masterclass events which are taking place on 6th and 11th May 2010 in Cambridge and Reading respectively.
Entitled "An Introduction to Hardware Interfacing and Device Driver Development" the workshop is intended to help engineers understand how software interfaces with typical embedded system hardware and to understand the purpose, structure and typical components of a device driver.
