Isle of Wight signal processing specialist RF Engines (RFEL) has been presented with the 2009 Queen's Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category by the Lord Lieutenant of the Isle of Wight, Major General Martin White, on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen.
The ceremony took place on Friday 14th August at the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes.

"The presentation ceremony gives a perfect opportunity to thank everyone who has been involved in helping make RF Engines a successful company," said CEO John Summers. "The Isle of Wight is a perfect location to operate from, with: supportive government bodies, excellent links, and an idyllic location."
RFEL is a privately held company that was formed in 2000 and now employs over 20 designers.
It develops signal processing intellectual property, largely for high-end RF analysis using FPGAs.
Customers include: Thales, Qinetiq, UK Ministry of Defence, Rheinmetall (Germany), CEA (France), Agilent (Switzerland) and LIG Nex1 (Korea).
